ESSAY QUESTIONS

ESSAY QUESTION 1:
Explain your view of state government’s role in relation to economic growth and/or job creation.

I believe government should be limited and we should reduce the size and scope of government along with government spending, while at the same time we continue to reduce the taxes on individuals and businesses. I believe by doing these things will create an environment for economic success and businesses to create jobs, not government.

ESSAY QUESTION 2:
Explain your views regarding the roles state government and parents have in elementary and secondary education.

I believe the decisions concerning our children's education should be made by parents and the thier local elected school boards not Washington or Nashville bureaucrats.

ESSAY QUESTION 3:
What is one of the most satisfying things you have ever done or accomplished and what made it so satisfying to you?

One of the most satisfying things I have ever done is put my faith in God and except his free gift of salvation through his death on the cross as payment for all my past, present and future sins. John 3:16 says it all.

ESSAY QUESTION 4:
What personal qualities or experiences do you think will best serve you in your role as a state legislator?

My walk with Christ and seeking his Godly wisdom sifted through his word (bible) in all the many decisions that I must make as a legislator.

ESSAY QUESTION 5:
What bill passed in the last General Assembly that you would have voted against and why, or what bill did not pass in the last General Assembly that you wish had passed and why?

"Bathroom Bill" in order to protect our women and children from sexual predators along with reaffirming decent common sense traditional values that this country was built on. We cannot be all things to all people and allow the moral fabric that has held this country together be torn to shreds.
