Explain your view of state government’s role in relation to economic growth and/or job creation.
Government creates policies that allow businesses to create jobs. A few examples of Government policies to help businesses are to lessen regulations, reduced taxes and fees, pass tort reform and worker's compensation reform. Government does not create jobs.
Explain your views regarding the roles state government and parents have in elementary and secondary education.
State government needs to make sure the schools and education system are held accountable on their performance measures, while making sure resources are available to achieve that standard. Parents should be more involved in their child's education and have options if the school or school system isn't meeting the performance measures.
What is one of the most satisfying things you have ever done or accomplished and what made it so satisfying to you?
As chairman of the health committee in the house, i have played a significant role in passing pro-life, pro-religious freedom, and pro-business legislation for Tennesseans. Protecting individual religious freedom is becoming increasingly important in today's world
What personal qualities or experiences do you think will best serve you in your role as a state legislator?
I have been in leadership, currently chairman of health committee and been able to handle complex issues with much success in passing then into law.
What bill passed in the last General Assembly that you would have voted against and why, or what bill did not pass in the last General Assembly that you wish had passed and why?
Transgender Bathroom bill needed to pass last general assembly which Susan Lynn sponsored. Protecting our children is extremely important. Protecting our freedoms against incremental increase in protected classes under the disguise of civil liberties.
