Explain your view of state government’s role in relation to economic growth and/or job creation.
Remove the barriers for businesses, especially small businesses, that make it hard for them to operate and be profitable. I am for getting government out of the way.
Explain your views regarding the roles state government and parents have in elementary and secondary education.
I believe educational decisions are best made at the local level.
What is one of the most satisfying things you have ever done or accomplished and what made it so satisfying to you?
Serving as county commissioner in Hawkins County. I was elected as Budget Chairman and Chairman Pro Temp by my colleagues on the commission which was an honor.
What personal qualities or experiences do you think will best serve you in your role as a state legislator?
Willingness to listen to all issues while not compromising my strong convictions, principles and morals.
What bill passed in the last General Assembly that you would have voted against and why, or what bill did not pass in the last General Assembly that you wish had passed and why?
I would have voted against the helmet law being repealed. I polled my constituents and it was a strong number against the law being repealed.
